“Football game” for children from Placement Centre Plopeni
Lions Club Ploiesti members, decided to fulfill a dream, to the children from Plopeni Placement Center, about which found out that are great supporters of Petrolul Ploiesti, the local football team, and want to go at the stadium for a match, and support their team live.
This Placement Center, located in Plopen, a city in Prahova County, is currently led by Mr.Ilie Vasile and hoots approximately 60 children with various disabilities, including mental.
These children receive the care and attention of the center permanent's employees, and succeed despite illness to carry paper paintings with seeds or painted stone.
Lions Club members have helped kids here repeatedly, being impressed by the poor conditions found there, also because of the special activities taking place in this center.
This time, a total of 15 children were taken to match at Petroul Ploiesti football team, at "Ilie Oana" stadium, match against Poli Timisoara, on 04 November 2013.
Once arrived at the stadium, we were overwhelmed by children as they could, with thanks, and told us with tears of joy how much they love football, even though they have not been on a stadium, before.
They showed us the scarfs they once received from the players of Petrolul Ploiesti, long time ago, and which they kept as a great treasure, even these are very damaged.
Admiring how, quiet and respectful they watch the football game, we felt for a second in another world, in contrast to the chaotic atmosphere of the stadium, created by the other fans.
These children showed us how little we are against pains of life and we forget to enjoy the small things which life offers us every moment.
At this football game, Lions members were the one SERVED , SERVED with a life lesson, learned how joys of simple things come, they come from a football match, a shabby yet enshrined scarf, a sincere smile, a "Thank you" so powerful and honest, it reaches the heart .
It is said that by serving others, you are actually the one served. With every action done, we, the members of Lions Club Ploiesti , are convince of this thing.
