Through the children eyes, the world is a celebration of colors and shapes. The sight is a window to the world and is essential for their learn ability. If a child doesn’t see very well, the world is a different place, where to live and to learn is a challenge.

Lions Club Ploiesti, following the mission of Lions Club International, organized, during the Global Week of Vision an action for eyes screening at Casa Alexandra Ploiesti.

32 children were tested. 8 of them were identified with sight problems. The children will be going on specialized investigations to decide what is better to do for their health.

Measurements were performed for free, using next-generation device PLUSOPTIX. The device allows visual examination of the basic parameters from an early age (4-6 months), the actual measurement is easy to be done and the child comfort during testing is maximum.

Are measured and analyzed in fractions of a second: refraction, pupillary diameter, direction and   interpupillar distance.

Through its work, Ploiesti Lions Club wants to be a partner of the community within they serve.

The main objective is to support children to obtain performance and reduce gaps for disadvantaged children.

Action "Clear view, healthy eyes" is a small, but very important gesture for the health of children. It is known that eye disease in children is a major obstacle in education and future.  If the detection of ocular diseases is faster, therapeutic success will be greater.

"Clear view, healthy eyes" is the motto, under the sign that Lions Club members will attend with dedication, like last year, the children's eye screening actions, hoping that through their unconditional help will identify and reduce vision problems.

Lions Clubs International is the largest humanitarian service organization in the world, made up of people with a recognized moral and social position, able to improve the fate of the poor, united by friendship and animated by the desire to serve.
